Genesis, a luxury automaker, has just unveiled the Genesis X Speedium Coupe concept, which is geared toward an electrified future.
The new concept is based on the Genesis X, which was unveiled late last month and is a “freestyle” design. Genesis takes the two-door GT design language and elevates it to make it more sporty, while also demonstrating what prospective owners can expect from Genesis’ next generation of electric vehicles.
The X Speedium Coupe was designed with an hourglass figure in mind, with curvaceous lines and muscular definitions to enhance the model’s sporting aesthetic.
Its name, “Speedium,” is inspired by the brand’s “passion for motorsports felt by Genesis designers at the Korean racetrack,” reinforcing the car’s performance-centric nature, which is further enhanced by the coupe platform.
Overall, it’s an exciting prospect for Genesis’ electric future. Two lines carve deep into the front end and wrap around to the fenders to create a wide stance, while the “Parabolic Line” extending from the front to the back of the car gives the X Speedium Coupe a shooting brake attitude, which is steeped in luxury performance history.
“We are giving each design element space to breathe,” said Donckerwolke. “It’s not about making the design elements compete with each other, but about orchestrating the elements so that they complement and respect one another.”
Keep your eyes peeled for more news about the project as more details unfold.
