Just in time for Spring Break, the Japanese sportswear brand is bringing back its Academic Scholar Pack — an initiative that began in 2019. — with two new colorways of the GEL-LYTE III and GT-II.
ASICS has taken a varsity-inspired approach to each offering for this sophomore capsule, using elevated materials for a premium look and feel. The “Semester 1” version of the GEL-LYTE III OG is made of leather and pigskin suede and features leather and pigskin suede base layers. The perforated toe boxes, quarters, and middle of the midsoles are styled in a collegiate green hue, with matted purple and vanilla accents.
The “Semester 2” GT-IIs are essentially the same as the “Semester 1” GT-IIs, but with a different presentation, with a purple matte base and green overlays. Yellow splatters appear on both pairs as a nod to the collection’s prestigious status.
The GEL-LYTE III OG will be available for $120 USD on April 1st, and the GT-II will be available for $110 USD in June at select retailers.
